AKB48 4th Senbatsu Election: Personal predictions (It might be slightly biased but I have my reasons. Also to note, my Oshimen is Tomochin.)
No. 1: Without a single doubt, Oshima Yuko deserves bring crowned as the next ace of AKB48. In fact, other than her (and Takamina), I can’t see anyone else that can be the next ace at all. Yuko just has a wonderful AKB aura around her, and her personality shines through as she’s very real, down-to-Earth and hardworking. Yuko must get #1; I won’t have it any other way.
No.2: Our beloved Team A leader Takahashi Minami has worked too long and too hard to be anything below Top 5. Definitely the member I respect the most out of all the other AKB48 members, Takamina has toiled along and held this group together. Give me a damn good reason why she doesn’t deserve the top 3 spots even.
No.3: Shinoda Mariko, the big sister of the group. I don’t really follow her much but I look up to her a lot. I personally can’t see Mariko-sama to be anything other than in the top 3 as well; Just feels weird.
No.4: It seems like 2012 might just be Watanabe Mayu’s year. I’m not too big a fan of hers but I think she deserves plenty of recognition for her work as an solo artist, actress, modeling, hosting, participating actively in all the Warota7 activities and whatever other appearances she’s had. I know Mayuyu has a huge legion of fans so #4 might just be short-changing her a wee bit.
No.5: I was honestly quite devastated knowing that Kojima Haruna got #11 in the preliminaries. All I’m hoping for is that her fans are just saving up and voting like mad to after the preliminary rounds because I just adore Kojiharu and as a 1st generation member herself, Kojiharu deserves wayyy better than a #11.
No.6: Itano Tomomi, definitely the girl who deserves her spot back in Kami7. I’m not saying this just because she’s my Oshimen, but poor Tomo doesn’t deserve dropping out of Kami7, not when she’s been working that hard and doing everything that’s given to her. As a 1st generation member as well, Tomochin has proven how well she can do as a solo artist and model. She might have died down a bit in year 2011 but I believe she can and should climb back up on the rankings.
No.7: Creating lots of buzz around her lately is Sashihara Rino. Aside from her solo music career, Sasshi is also regularly seen on TV programmes, magazine spreads, her “Muse no Kagami” drama and upcoming movie. She’s becoming quite an all-round entertainer indeed.
No.8: Kashiwagi Yuki would be my pick for this spot. I know many people, especially the Yukirin wotas, would probably hope to throw something worse than sticks and stones at me, but I truly just can’t see why Yukirin should top over the above 7 choices. I’ll admit she’s got a good voice & she has the whole idol package alike to Mayu but there’s just something off about Yukirin that I can’t quite put my finger on. It’s unlikely she’ll be anything below Top 5 in the real election but there you go.
No.9: Matsui Rena, only because I find her very charming and intriguing. Some wotas might just be voting for Rena to top over the other Matsui, but really, I find Rena a very versatile idol. Her latest “Ginkyou” photobook was a true charm and even better than Acchan’s “Bukiyou” tbh. I’m looking forward to seeing her rise up on the rankings.
